I Started Cycling as a teenager with my dad who was in the CTC and then I joined
the Rutland Cycling club, were I started racing when I was about 16.

Colin Keeton took a ride out on a Sunday afternoon and inspired a whole generation
including me, getting the miles in and sprinting for signs, all good fun.

I competed at time trials and road racing with no idea of what I was doing.
At first I couldn't get to ride for Yorkshire, But when eventually I did
I was knocked off by a car, and never got asked again.
After this I drifted away from Cycling got into horses.

I got the bug again when I met Rob Townsend in the late 90's
I learnt how to train properly and had a bike that fitted me correctly.
I competed in time trials, and rode for a few different teams,
J E James Cycles and Scarborough Paragan Racing Team
with BBAR Champion Elaine Ward

I was always looking for that elusive womens team,
Then work took over, and I had 12 years out of cycling while
we started and developed our own buisness before coming back
to cycling, around 2009

On my return to cycling, I found there was still a lack of women
cycling together, or as teams. So after a couple of years riding as a
lone women trying to hang on to the men from different cycling clubs
in Sheffield I started WCS RT.

Its great having other women to ride and train with its been a long time
coming but its fantasic we have a great bunch of girls, it's been such an
inspiration i'm even going to road race in 2014

2013 was a fantastic year for WCS RT, What a great team.
and so to 2014..
